Dorado is an altFunk group based in Portland, Oregon. Started in 2002 by Australian ex-patriot singer/guitarist Sky Cooper, and NYC veteran session drummer Joe Trump. Dorado's sound is a combination of rock, funk, and jazz elements.
In 1996, Sky came to the States to study music with legend Yusef Lateef. For four years, Sky played shows with a diverse range of groups in the New England area: from a Funkadelic tribute band, to folk, to jazz combos, to writing and conducting classical music, blues, metal and bluegrass.
